My name is Nathan Alexander, Ill be your guide if you've made a reservation with Xtra Mile Guide Service.  I have been guiding for a long period of time given my young age.  I am in my 30's and have been guiding since I was a young adult.  I cut my teeth guiding deer and turkey hunts.  Not long after that I met my wonderful wife and we started and wonderful little family.  I have two boys and one baby girl.  Being a dad is my favorite title, but I do enjoy guiding.  Helping others make lasting memories in the outdoors is my mission.  Over the years it has been so much fun meeting new people, teaching and learning more about the mighty Mississippi River.

I've spent my whole life near this river and was raised by a die hard river rat.  My grandpa was a very talented fishermen and I was very fortunate to learn the river from him. I currently live in the heart of pool #9.  My guiding practice is concentrated primarily on pools 8 and 9.  There is great amounts of habitat for quality fish on these pools and its taken a long time to become a confident guide in these waters.  I've spent days, months, years on big muddy and I named my business to replicate my work ethic.

I strive to provide a quality fishing trip for my great customers.  The standards I hold for myself as a guide are very high.  Its important to me that people are getting there moneys worth when choosing my business.  My hard work has resulted in consistent amounts of amazing fishing trips.  I ask nobody to Idolize me, nor did I become a guide to feel like I'm the greatest fishermen there has ever been.  I seek no fame or to become rich.  My goal is to provide for my family, protect my business, and enjoy a career doing what I love.

My approach to fishing can be considered aggressive. I wont park my boat in one spot all day, and apologize to people that the fish won't bite. I find there is always action somewhere and some days you just have to chase it down.  Whether we are fishing bottom baits for catfish or cast crankbaits at walleyes until our arms are tired, I'll pursue the best possible result for you.  I use a Alumacraft competitor 175, 115hp Yamaha, and all the best of electronics I can afford.  My favorite species is definitely any of the panfish family.  Catching crappies is number one for me without a doubt.  The peacefulness of fall jumbo perch can be so relaxing also though. Big bull bluegills make me hungry, and pre spawn smallmouth are a riot!  No matter what the species I know how to catch them and can teach you as well.  I'm very thankful to all my customers new and old.  Thanks for supporting my family and my dream!!!
